What is Magic - E?
This three
disk package covers the main functions of the final, silent 'e'
in English spelling. Also covered are the soft 'c' and soft 'g'
sounds, along with /ck to /ke words.
The teacher disk employs distinctive animations to present the various spelling points in a lively way, each of the five rules taught having a different graphic animation to guide the pupil through what happens when an 'e' is added to the word.
The practice disk presents the pupil with several words that have been split into two parts and scattered about a maze. Their task is to listen to a spoken word and then collect its two parts, dropping them at the exit.
Digital sampled speech is used throughout both programs as an aid to reinforcement. Teachers may also create their own word lists to use in the Practice game (complete with speech sample files - sampler required).
